this is rarespawn (david). let me tell you about my awesome day yesterday! so in between my classes i decided to take a trip to the computer store to buy new memory... on the way my cars tranmission went out and i was stranded at the computer place. all of my friends were in class, so i ended up having to walk about 5 miles, only to get back to campus and miss my first major test in my class. after that ordeal, i managed to get back to my house and i installed my new memory stick in the remaining open slot i had. it was the right speed and everything, i built my computer so of that i was sure. once i installed it my computer brought me up to the xp professional login screen, then my screen turned neon green... my computer died, and then when i turned it on again, the WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SYSTEM folder was magically corrupt and i could not access windows or any of my files. hence the reason i haven't logged on wow in a few days. anyway i found my xp cd, but lost my cd key, so the repair installation of windows is pointless, because apparently to repair and existing version, you still have to re-enter a cd key... even though the repair function can recognize a somewhat functional version of windows already installed. i called microsoft and they laughed at me... i visited annoyances.org and the steps on there didnt work. now my computer is in a viscious cycle of turning on, loading the xp splash screen, and restarting...over and over and over. anyway, after all of that someone broke into my house late at night, woke me up, and kicked me in the balls. just kidding, but that wouldn't have surprised me after all that shit. anyway, im working on my computer through the recovery console atm in my room... so hopefull all will be back up and running tonight. hope to catch you guys soon, and i hope none of you have a bad luck streak like this!~! <3 Rarespawn

Wow, that is some shitty luck. Last semester I went home for spring break and when I came back my computer was messed up too. I'd get to the log on screen for Windows XP, and everything would just freeze. On top of that my XP disc was at home, 4 hours away. Fortunately since I was an engineering student at that time, I was able to get a free copy of XP pro through my school and I ended up having to just reinstall windows. Such a pain in the ass, so I feel for ya bro. If you have a roomate who is willing - I suggest taking your hard drive out of your computer and putting it in someone elses so that you can transfer off all your important files (assuming they aren't backed up).

i got my cd key so i am making microsoft help me over the phone because they are responsible for making xp with all its shitty bugs, and it keeps taking forever and the guy can barely speak english... and every 5 minutes he goes, "this process can take long time i put you on hold, which is good time to grab a coffee or a tea, thank you" ahahaha QQ @ microsux

as of today everything should be back into place and no more late night playing on my friends computer. i got a new videocard and a new harddrive since my old one was fried... took about 3 hours to get wow installed again and set up. i also quit my job because it sucked. so, starting tonight/tomorrow i am back for good. hooray. see you in the maelstrom
