So, after months of slogging through Naxx clear after tired old Naxx clear, chasing an Immortal achievement that eluded us to the end because we suck so much shit, we hailed the arrival of Ulduar with enthusiasm comparable to... well, everyone else who's been doing the same thing the past few months. With Tuesday's server shenanigans, we ended up waiting until tonight to actually get into the 25-man edition.
First up was Flame Leviathan. After a few groups worked on him on Tuesday in the 10-man we decided, hey, you know what? This guy's too easy. So, we left Freya's tower up and killed him that way instead. Obviously a tougher fight, and it's easy to see how hard mode is going to be fairly bananas. I'm still not totally sold on the vehicle system as anything other than a gimmick, but I guess an occasional gimmick fight isn't completely horrible.

Shiny New Ulduar Purps -
Strength of the Automaton (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45106) - Skona
The Leviathan's Coil (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45112) - Rokni
Steamworker's Goggles (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45118) - Aplaste
Pattern: Savior's Slippers (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45105) - Gli
We opted to skip Ignis and his questionably buggy nature and Razorscale and her... stuff... for now, in order to get towards Tier shit faster, so we moved right along to the XT-002 Deconstructor.
Sorta... Void Reaver meets Solarian. This fight is pretty tightly tuned at the moment, and we probably spent more time wiping because of dumb shit than we should've, but everything came together eventually and he fell over. Best part? People were so happy to see him die that they either bugged the fuck out or went running ahead to see what MORE TRASH looks like. So, this looks like a 10-man screenshot.

"Ulduar Has Only Mail Drops" Loots -
Brass-lined Boots (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45249) - Loktera
Thunderfall Totem (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45255) - Aplaste
Quartz-studded Harness (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45259) - Luxferre
Pattern: Cord of the White Dawn (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45104) - Tephea
All in all, Ulduar feels very SSC/TK-like, sans crippling balance issues and bugs (well ok, maybe not the bugs the first day or two). The normal modes are still challenging, and the hard modes should be pretty goddamn hard once we get to them, so very much looking forward to that. Meantime, hooray for new content!
