In our last raid before Wrath of the Lich King, we killed the big dude in Sunwell. Twas a good fight and a great raiding season.

Sometimes, you look at a talent and go, "...damn, that's shitty. I wish I didn't have to spec into that." But you dutifully press that stupid fucking button three times every single time you respec, because hey, can't do without Impale! Something that's such a huge waste of debuff slots that it causes a certain paladin to beg, "Hey, man, take off Deep Wounds!"
But... wait.
(I don't know why it's listing bottom to top.)
OH SNAP.
So yeah, this fight was hard. Probably as hard in terms of raw effort and precision as anything we've ever seen. It also took us the longest of any TBC fight, partially due to the usual summer slowdown. The fucker's dead now, though, and that's what matters. The Warband marches on.

So after a few months of fucking around, farming BT, L2Ping, and lots of Chinese-firedrill type changes, we finally downed... er, saved? Kalecgos.
The player in me marvels at how interesting and challenging an opening instance fight this is, but the raid leader laments the timing of the instance's release coupled with end-of school shit that gave us a run for our money for a while in fielding a proper group for our dragon-related shenanigans. The fight really does a good job of setting the bar for what is to come, though, at least from my point of view.

January 2, 2006 - The first combined raid of Atrum Conventus and Lascivious Cadre takes down Lucifron to notch our first kill in Molten Core one week before we would officially merge to become the Kor'kron Warband.
Two years, two months, and sixteen days later, at 10:56pm, Illidan Stormrage keeled over, slain. Ding dong, the Betrayer is dead, and KKW is no longer months behind.

It's been a long time coming. We've seen countless bosses die, friends leave and rejoin, drama bombs and realms forums clusterfucks the likes of which have torn apart other guilds. But we perservered, prospered, and beat the game... for now!
As a final note, when we formed as a guild, we did it at Thrall, with his Kor'kron Elite guard in audience. Tonight, we returned to the same place to celebrate... because we're a bunch of sentimental faggots.

So, Thursday didn't go so hot, and I probably yelled at people too much. As a raid leader, there's a fine line to walk between being hard but fair and being a raging douchebag, and I'm the type that likes to leap over into the latter. So tonight, in an effort to confirm what everyone was thinking anyway, I just blamed people at random. And what do you know? We killed the Illidari Council! I'm such a genius.
Oh yeah, the fight. LOVE it. Twin Emps on crack. It was especially fun when Avonaco, the Veras tank, DC'd at 15% and didn't get back on until they were dead - so we had first me (in awesome dps gear), and then Rokni (also tanking Lady Malande) pick him up long enough to down the bastards.
